Three of our sponsored matches enjoyed visits to their sponsor’s work sites over the last few months. Read more below about the Medallion Petfoods, Goodtime Pies and Nexia visits.
Medallion Petfoods
Mentor Fraser and BBBS team member Helen recently visited Alastair and the team at Medallion Pet Foods in Waipukurau. They started the visit by meeting the team and learning about their diverse product ranges, including their expansion into family pet food, not just for working farm dogs. A highlight of the visit was a tour of the factory, where Medallion produces an impressive 45 tonnes of dog food each week.
Medallion Pet Foods truly values the work BBBS does and even provides informal mentoring to their own staff. They chose to sponsor BBBS because they believe in the power of mentoring and see the alignment in our values. We’re so grateful for their support and the positive impact they’re making. Nexia
Mentor Tracy & Mentee Tureiti had a heart-warming meeting with the Nexia team, pictured above (bottom left - L-R: Hamish, Ashleigh, Mark, Tracy, Tureiti and Ben), presenting them with a certificate of appreciation for their generous sponsorship. Over morning tea (a delicious chocolate brownie and lemon cake made by Tracy & Tureiti!), they shared stories of their match, their favourite things to do together (Velocity and listening to music) and the positive impact their friendship has already had on their lives.

The Goodtime Pie Co.
Mentor Andrew and mentee Maui enjoyed visiting their Match Sponsor, The Goodtime Pie Co. They started with a tour of the factory, seeing how the raw ingredients come in, how they are put together and how they are cooked. Both were amazed by the intricate steps involved in pie-making and found it remarkable how affordably the pies are sold given the effort required. Highlights were the opportunity to help make pies, and then Kransky sausages... and then getting to taste some freshly cooked Kranskies! It was such an awesome experience!
