After nine years of being matched Alasdair and Kaine have officially signed out of the BBBS programme, though they intend to keep in contact for the foreseeable future. Soon to be 18 and graduating from BBBS, Kaine says they’ve done all sorts of fun things together, but his favourite times were “sitting in a café with Alasdair and ‘chewing the fat’ over a cup of tea”. Kaine said, “Being part of the BBBS programme has added more family to my tree. The people who supported me over those nine years are an important part of my life journey. Alasdair is not just my mentor, he is a friend, comrade, and super-role model forever.”
Their match is our longest-serving match and the only match that has officially graduated since the programme was relaunched. We have been blessed to witness their match journey and we wish Kaine and Alasdair all the best for the future.
